This custom fireplace was designed to be a strong yet simple art statement in a room graced by extraordinary water views. The client's passion for both contemporary design and nature were the inspiration for the balanced asymmetric surround created of thick slabs of limestone. The squares above, all of pearwood with the exception of one of limestone, are set slightly away from the wall and backlit to produce depth, shadow and texture in the overall design.
